To celebrate our 40th anniversary in 2020 we commissioned a composition competition.
The judges assessed 175 works, looking for a celebratory piece or pieces that would be appropriate for our forthcoming 40th Anniversary Season.
The choir sang through a shortlist of pieces in mid-June and their feedback was considered by the panel shortly afterwards.
Following the judges’ final deliberations we were delighted to announce that three composers have been awarded prizes.
1st Jack White for When Voices Rise
2nd Martin Neill for Sing for Joy!
3rd Lydia Jane Pugh for Your Words Give Light
